The Adventures of Pippi Longstrump

So before everyone goes off yelping about how strange of a post title I have, I'd like to kindly link everyone to this post on Lynn's blog.

Dear Lord. I don't even know what to say.

Moving right along... the picture and post title actually have something to do with each other, and they make sense and work in a logical fashion. Just bear with me. You'll get it in a minute.

My life is, admittedly, strange. I make no effort to conceal this fact. I could go on and on about that for awhile, but I'll shut up and get to the point. Occasionally, something that I desire will magically pass into existence by no merit of my own or action on my part. (I wish I knew how to control this better.) I remember the first time this happened - I thought to myself, "Hey, wouldn't it be AWESOME if shoes had like... little wheels that you could pop out of the bottom and skate around on?"... an hour later, I went into town and saw a store window display for the first generation of "roller shoes". While I never owned a pair (I have always had big-as-heck feet), it was pretty awesome.

Yesterday, I was thinking to myself... "Man, someone needs to write a sweet, synthy dreamwave anthem with cut-up, sampled MALE vocals - I wonder what that would sound like?" Almost immediately, I thought, "Man, what if this was one of those times where I wanted something, and it happened?"

So later, when I checked Google Reader and saw two new tracks by Fear of Tigers, I was almost not even surprised when they were the tracks that I had been wanting to exist.

Apparently, Fear of Tigers is dropping a totally free album on December 1, and these fresh new tracks are a nice little taste of the awesomeness that is to come. So, I've decided to post them up here for my lovely readers to hear!

Fear of Tigers - The Adventures of Pippi Longstrump
Fear of Tigers - The Adventures of Pippi Longstrump (Diamond Cut Remix)

What's that? Diamond Cut remixed something else? That's no surprise, as Diamond Cut is one of the most active and consistently amazing remixers around. However, usually Diamond Cut's remixes are also more banging and edgy than the original... but The Man is apparently getting tricky on us, as this remix is the more calm and relaxing of the two. But... they're both great tracks - this is a perfect example of two producers approaching the same theme from two different perspectives, resulting in two great tracks with two different personalities that can stand on their own as amazing.

So yeah - download, listen, love, and enjoy.

And while we are speaking of downloading, listening, loving, and enjoying... Silver Lining (that's me!) is about to drop a new track - stay tuned! It's nothing like I have ever done before (no surprise there either), and it's turning out really well. I'm excited about it, at least.

hmm...very music, but not very random

@Lynn I wasn't trying to be random; I was just explaining that, while the post title was offbeat, it actually pertained to something.
